Mel Novak, CFP® - Partner

Mel established his financial services practice in the Delaware Valley in 1986 and has spent over thirty years in project management, business and personal financial planning. He has throughout the years specialized in addressing the financial needs of older adults and those nearing retirement.

Mel was co-founder of The Caregivers Association of Chester County in Pennsylvania. He has also contributed to SENIOR’S newspaper, WCOJ Radio and Suburban Cable TV and regularly presents seminars on subjects of interest to older adults at communities throughout Chester, Lancaster, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.

Mel holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Maryland in Engineering, in addition to the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification from the College of Financial Planning. He is also an active member of the International Board of Certified Financial Planners.

Mel holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 24, and 63 registrations with LPL Financial.

Robert Smee, AWMA® - Partner

Robert brings to the firm more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is a partner with Brandywine Wealth Management, LLC. He specializes in portfolio management and investment planning. Prior to joining Brandywine Wealth Management, LLC Robert was a branch manager and financial advisor for H&R Block Financial Advisors, Inc.

While branch manager at H&R Block Financial Advisors, Inc. his branch was consistently included in the company’s top 5 offices in the country for revenue. He had over 25 financial advisors reporting to him from several offices and was responsible for supervision, compliance, training, recruiting and the growth of assets under management and revenue of the branch. He has been the speaker at numerous corporate functions at his prior firm.

Robert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kutztown State College (PA) along with earning the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor designation through the College of Financial Planning in Denver, CO. In addition he has passed the following exams administered by FINRA and registrations held with LPL Financial: General Securities Representative, General Securities Sales Supervisor, General Securities Principal and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law.

Ricardo Costa – Wealth Management Advisor

Ricardo is a graduate of the John M. Huntsman College of Business at Utah State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. He began his career working in banking as a Small Business Account Manager at Bank of America (former MBNA). He joined Brandywine Wealth Management, LLC in 2007 after an internship the year before. Prior to becoming a Wealth Management Advisor, he worked at Brandywine Wealth Management, LLC as Marketing Coordinator & Graphic Designer, and Investment Services Sales Assistant.

Ricardo is married and has two sons. He is a fitness enthusiast and has a diploma on personal training from the National Personal Trainer Institute of Philadelphia. He is fluent in Portuguese and is proficient in conversational Spanish. Ricardo holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 66 registrations with LPL Financial.

Sarah Costa – Tax Services Director

Sarah has received the Registered Tax Return Preparer designation from the Internal Revenue Service. She has been preparing tax returns for clients of Brandywine Wealth Management, LLC for the past nine years. She has extensive experience with taxation issues related to seniors, both those in transition and those living in Continue Care Retirement Communities. Prior to joining Brandywine Wealth Management, LLC, Sarah worked as a Daily Money Manager assisting Seniors with medical insurance claims, financial record keeping and paperwork.

Sarah is a strong believer in the power of education has presented many programs ranging in topics from Medicare Decision Making to Roth Conversion Planning. In college Sarah studied business and accounting and she spent over two years working in the retail banking industry. She holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 6 and 63 registrations with LPL Financial. She is married and lives in Chester County with her husband and two children.

William Salisbury – Operations Director

Bill joined our team in 1995 and has been overseeing the company’s operations ever since. He was born and raised in Southern Chester County, Pennsylvania, and graduated from West Chester State University in 1970 with a BS in Education. Before joining us, he worked as a junior high school science teacher and taught for seven years. Bill then went to work for Equitable Life Assurance Society as a sales agent in 1977 in Wilmington, DE. He worked there as an agent for six years, a district sales manager for two years, and then as an agency operations manager in the Exton area in Pennsylvania for ten years.

Bill is married and lives near Quarryville, PA. He and wife Audrey have three grown children and five grandchildren, all living locally in PA.

Dee Campbell-Bostic – Executive Assistant

Dee started her career as a Licensed PA Life Insurance Agent and later moved into the logistics field as Distribution Area Manager for 17 years. She joined us in 2012. Her life philosophy of “we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not a single act, but a habit” has afforded her many awards for customer service, profitability, and productivity.

A lover of the bagpipes and her Scottish ancestry, she is a member of the International Thespian Society and studied at the Clyden Center of Performing Arts. Her greatest passion in life besides her four kids is performing. She has performed in many musicals and operas and has been a director and playwright.

Currently, she attends Brigham Young University for Business Administration.
